Meryl Engler - Consulting Coach
Picture

Meryl Engler grew up in Huntington Beach, California playing lots of sports.  While attending Syracuse University, she discovered rowing, joined the team and fell in love with the feeling of flying across the surface of the water.  She competed for Syracuse University for four years, while also rowing SoCal scullers out of long Beach and Huntington Beach, California over the summers.  Meryl studied sculpture, printmaking, religious studies and history at Syracuse.  She then attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln for a MFA in studio art with an emphasis in printmaking.  While in grad school, she started coaching the Nebraska Crew Club at the school.  After graduating, Meryl started coaching the junior novice women and masters team at Lake Oswego Community Rowing outside Portland, Oregon.  Meryl moved to Akron, Ohio fall of 2019 as the artist-in-residence at Rubber City Prints and started coaching at Portage Lakes Rowing Association.  She loves working with the team and getting to explore beautiful Portage Lakes.
