Our Sweep teams are made up of Masters, Competitive, and Novice Rowers. You will have the opportunity to row in 4s and 8s.

Monday: 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Novice finish training on September 30th and then will have the option to join Masters or Competitive for the remainder of the rowing season.
Competitive
Saturday 6:30 am - 8:15 am
Tuesday 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Please arrive to practice 15 minutes early to ensure that we are on the water on time.
Competitive:
Our competitive group includes people from fresh out of our novice program all the way up to seasoned racers. Focusing on technique, speed and conditioning, it's a group that likes to row in various races across Ohio. They row a competition-focused practice on Sunday mornings and Tuesday/Thursday evenings. Competitive teams often schedule extra practices among team members.
Masters:
Our masters group features an equally wide array of people as the competitive team. The masters team likes recreational rows around Portage Lakes, occasionally competing the SRL out of Cleveland. They row Saturday mornings after the competition group and Monday evenings.
Novice:
After completing our novice program, we would love to have you continue your membership by rowing in our masters and/or competitive groups.
Dues for 2025:
~Annual Membership - Regular Season for Masters and Competitive levels for the regular rowing season (April 12-September 27, 2025): $575.00 Base with $38.81 tax = $613.81
~Fall Extension - Rowing and Sculling Membership from September 28, 2025 to November (weather permitting)
$122.76 ($115.00 Base and $7.76 tax)
~Early Bird Option - Includes the Annual Membership and Fall Extension, discounted $25 if registered and paid by April 30, 2025. $709.89 ($665.00 Base and $44.89 tax)
~Good Faith Membership - Full year membership for individuals who will not be rowing, but would like to remain an active member of the Portage Lakes Rowing Association. $53.38 ($50.00 base and $3.38 tax)
~Annual Member Rack Space Rental - Rental of one (1) boat rack. An Annual Membership must be purchased separately to receive this price. $160.13 ($15.00 base and $10.13 tax)
~Good Faith Member Rack Space Rental - Rental of one (1) boat rack without purchase of an Annual Membership. A Good Faith Membership must be purchased and proof of active US Rowing Membership must be provided for insurance purposes $260.88 ($250.00 base and $16.88 tax)
